How many skeins will I need for this lovely scarf? I just want to make sure I have enough before I start this. Thank you.

    1. admin

It depends on yardage. I used about half a skein of hobby lobby’s baby bee yarn that’s 377 yards/skein. If you are making a large scarf you may need more.

      Hi,
I am trying to follow this pattern and I am stuck on row 2. Am I missing something? Please help.

      1. admin

You will do 2 dc in the first stitch. Then you will do 1 dc in every other stitch. You will do 3 dc in the middle and 3 dc in the last. Hope that helps!

        1. Sheila

          How many stitches total?

          1. admin

21 stitches. You will have (ch 1, dc) three times in the middle stitch.

I love the simplicity and ease yet it’s gorgeous! My fave patterns to make are the simple and clean/modern ones!! This looks lovely and I cannot wait to try it!

Thank you so much! That’s exactly why I love this pattern. It’s simple and easy to make

Thank you for sharing your pattern. How many strands did you use for your tassel and how did you attach the tassel to the ends?

      1. admin

I didn’t count how many strands. I just kept wrapping yarn around a book till I thought it looked full enough. Then I just use the strand used to tie the center of the tassel to attach it

  4. Anne

    Hi,
Could you please tell me how many rows you did on your scarf or the finished measurements?
    Thanks, it is beautiful!

    1. admin

Of course! I did 27 rows. Mine measures 19 inches long and 29 inches wide

  5. Rachel Edington

Thank you for the pattern. I am gonna give it a try. Will send a pick when done!

  6. Rachel Edington

So we need to chain two after we do the first 5 HDc’s?

    1. admin

Only chain 1 and then go into the hdc sequence. Hope that helps! 🙂

      1. Rachel Edington

        Thank you!

Me again….. sorry…Has anyone tried this? I am wondering if something is off with the pattern or if I am not doing it right. I am about 8 rows in and it seems like one side is longer than the other. It should not be right? Thoughts?

    1. admin

Did you check your stitch count on rows 1-5?
It shouldn’t be off by much. There may be some discrepancy in the halves due to your tension.

      1. Rachel Edington

Okay. I will start over now that I know the pattern and make sure I count. 8 rows went fast. So it shouldn’t take too long to start over. Thanks for getting back to me so fast. I looked for other patterns and this is the only one I really like. So I am gonna try!

        1. admin

Of course. And thank you! Happy stitching!

        2. Mandy

I am having the same problem. I must be not reading something right. One side looks great, but the other side is slowly “wrapping” around and becoming longer. Almost like I am adding an extra stich on each row but, when I count my stiches, that’s not the case. I may start over and see if I can even it out. It definitely works up fast so I don’t mind trying again.

          1. admin

It may just even out as you go. The bigger it gets the more weight it is and that will cause it to stretch a bit.

  8. Mandy

Thank you for your response. I am sorry but I have one more question. I can’t seem to figure out your stitch numbers. For example, if row 1 is 11 stitches total then wouldn’t the pattern for row 2 be: 2dc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, (1dc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, 1dc, ch1), 1dc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, 3dc with the stitches in parenthesis being the middle 3 stiches. Wouldn’t that make only 20 stitches? Are you counting the starting ch2 as a stitch? If so, will the last 3hdc from row 3 go into the ch2 from row 2? I think this is where I keep getting thrown off. Sorry if my question is confusing. Your scarf is beautiful and I look forward to seeing it when I finish.

    1. admin

Thank you for bringing my attention to this. I miscounted- oops! Pattern has been updated

  9. Cindy Hollaway

I’m confused or reading it wrong… the pattern says hdc half double crochet but something looked off so I went back to read, in the comments it says dc double crochet.

    Help?!?

    1. admin

      Which row are you on?

  10. Carmen

Hi so bow do you tie this when it’s done? I see in the pic you also have some tassels. Thank you.

    1. admin

You can tie them in a knot or slip stitch them on. In the PDF I have a photo tutorial for how to attach them 🙂

      1. Carmen

Hi I just bought the pattern but didn’t see how they can be attached just the tassel. I was also hoping it would be a bit difference I’ve started this several times but can’t seem to get row 2 correct. I’m always two stitches short. Perpahs im not starting in the first stitch correctly. Do you happen to have a YouTube video of row two? Thank you.

        1. admin

I do not have a video tutorial for this pattern. The pdf will have pictures at the end that show step by step how I added the tassels. I used a slip stitch. For row 2 I separated what goes in each of the 5 stitches from the previous row. The first will have 3 hdc, the second will have 1 hdc, the third will have 3 hdc, the fourth will have 1 hdc and the last will have 3 hdc. (3+1+3+1+3=11). Hope that helps!

          1. Carmen

            Hi,

You’re so sweet to get back to me like you have. However, it’s Row 2 (20 stitches at the end) that I’m having the difficulty with not row 1.

          2. admin

Oops my bad 😂 What count are you ending up with?

          3. Carmen

            Hi,

            I’m ending with 18 –

          4. admin

Did you include the initial ch 2 ?

  11. Dani

Beautiful work, I love this and am hoping to make and gift for a family member. I’ve read through the comments and have seen that some people have had problems with one side being much longer than the other. I too am having that problem, I’ve reatarted a few times and it’s always at the start of row 3 with the 3 Hdc in first stitch. It just seems to bobble it out. I’ve tried working on with it but the side just seems to wrap inward. My count is right on each row and I feel like your pattern isn’t too hard for me to understand. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thank you so much 🙂

    1. admin

I’ve noticed that as well. It will even out once you add more rows and it stretches.

    2. Carmen Lamoureux

I’ve had the same problem – I just can’t get it to come out right! I’ve tried several times, I even bought the pattern hoping that might have different directions – it doesn’t! 🙁

      1. admin

It will appear to be off at the start. As you add more rows the scarf will stretch and it will become less noticeable. Also the PDF has direction for how to add and make the tassels. I advertise that in the blog post. That is the difference between the paid and free version.

  12. Barb

Could you PLEASE write clearer, step by step directions for Row 2——–l, like others, am very confused with your instructions.
Is the actual stitch count 20 or 21 for Row 2?
I want to try this pattern , however have made little progress!

    1. admin

      Hi Barb,
So sorry to hear you’re having difficulties with the pattern. For row 2 there will be a total of 12 dc’s and 8 chain 1’s so a total of 20 stitches.

So starting off you will ch 2 and place 2 dc in the first stitch. You will then chain 1, skip 1 stitch, and place 1 dc in the next. Repeat that once more. That final dc will be in the middle stitch. You will then chain 1 and dc twice more into the middle stitch (so ch 1 dc three times into that stitch). You will then chain 1 and dc into the next stitch. You will then chain 1, skip one stitch, and dc in the next. You will do that once more so your dc is in the last stitch. Then place 2 more dc in that final stitch.
      I hope that helps!

      1. Barb

I thank you very much for these detailed instructions—-they are so much clearer to me now.
I am excited to carry on with this pattern and complete the scarf.
        Thanks so much.😃

[…] of you have seen my pattern for the Boho Triangle Scarf. I am blown away by the popularity of this pattern. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting this pattern […]

  14. Amanda

Thank you for this pattern. I’m making it for my sister for Christmas. I love that you put in a size for ww yarn, which is what I used. The pattern is lovely and easy to follow. Thanks again

    1. admin

Aw thank you so much! Definitely share pictures- I’d love to see how it comes out!

  15. admin

So sorry to hear you’re having trouble. The ch 1’s do count as a stitch

  16. Bonnie

Are the stitches supposed the be the same number on either side of the middle or marker? I had my scarf all done but it was so lopsided I ripped it all apart and started over and it is doing it again…..help!

    1. admin

It will appear to be slightly lopsided.

  17. Linda Calvert

    HI there….
On row 2 I’m only ending up with 17 stitches…
If row 1 you have 11 stitches at the end….
And row 2 you do the chain 2 (really counts as a dc) then 2 dc in that first stitch
And then 1 dc in each stitch til you get to the middle cluster and do 3 dc in the second stitch then 1 in each stitch til the last stitch and 3 in that one….how do I get 20 ….
I’ve tried several times….what am I missing here

    1. admin

I’ve gotten this question before. Check out the comments where I leave a detailed explanation. 🙂

    2. CT

*Don’t forget the chains in row 2*

Hoping this will help someone, as I just had the same “17” count issue…. I forgot to add the chains between the middle DC stitches. I only realized that as I was doing the following row. I went back and redid the middle section and finished row 2 again and it came out correct!

I really love this pattern, but having problems too! My question is: rows start and end with either 3 dc or 3 hdc. But a couple rows including Row 4 starts with 2 dc, ends with 3 dc. Should that be 3 instead of 2? I’ve tried several times and its still lopsided for me. Thanks again for a beautiful pattern!

    1. admin

Yes it is correct that it starts with 2 and not 3. It will appear a bit lopsided but it will not be noticeable when worn

  21. Pennie

Does this pattern work up so that the bottom edge (row 1) is flat? No matter what I do, by 5 rows in, it looks like a droopy mustache instead of a triangle. I’ve pulled it out about 10 times now. I love your finished look, but so far, I’m not getting that.

    1. admin

      It should resemble a triangle
