Pattern: Solid Granny Square Shrug

This latest pattern is my new favorite. I am a big fan of sweaters of all sorts because I get cold so often. This sweater drapes well and is very loose and roomy. AND it can be customized for any size! (Yes, ANY!)

The pattern gives the measurements to customize from women’s size XS-5XL!

I wanted to creat this shrug pattern to be easy enough even a beginner could make it. The first wearable item is a big step for any new crocheter.

This pattern takes the idea of a simple granny square and, with the magic of some folding and sewing, turns it into a beautiful shrug. (Insert pixie dust here).

Lately I’ve been eyeing this new yarn at Michaels called Caron Kindness by Yarnspirations. This yarn is so soft and easy to work with. I didn’t have any problems with my hook getting stuck or there being tons of tied ends throughout the skein. This yarn comes in a wide range of colors so there’s one for every taste and style! I personally fell in love with the color forest. It just makes me think of fall and winter (tip: those holidays are just around the corner. This shawl would be a great holiday gift! 😉 ). The amount of yarn used will vary depending on the size you make. I am 5″ 8′ and wear a size 4 and I used just under 2 skeins. Check out this yarn here.

This project is also pretty inexpensive compared to other sweaters. Caron kindness is $3.49 at michaels. I used coupons so I got two skeins for about $5 total! (about $7 if you don’t use coupons)

Another bonus about this pattern is that it doesn’t take much time at all. Once you get the hang of it you can turn on Netflix (if you’re like me most likely watching FRIENDS) and just go! The pattern is worked in continuous rounds, increasing in size each time.

You can get the pattern here through Ravelry or Etsy.

Thank you so much for supporting my small business and the hard work that went into the creation of this pattern!

Happy Stitching!
