Growing up in San Diego, going to the beach was a summer staple. This pattern bundle was created with inspiration from California beaches. Each of these washcloths is designed with a beach in mind: Pacific Beach, Pebble Beach, and Pismo Beach.

Pacific Beach Washcloth
Materials:
– 1 skein of Lion Brand re-up yarn or approx. 50 yards of worsted weight #4 yarn
– Size H/ 5 mm crochet hook (or hook to obtain gauge)
– Scissors
– Yarn needle
Pattern Notes:
– This pattern is written in US terms
– Ch 3 at beginning of row does not count as a stitch
Stitches:
Ch = Chain
Dc = double crochet
Fpdc = front post double crochet
Sc = single crochet
Sl st = slip stitch
Gauge:
2 inches = 7 stitches x 4 rows
Finished Measurement:
Finished product measures approx. 6.5 inches x 6.5 inches.
Pattern:
Ch 24.
Row 1: Dc in the 2nd chain from the hook and in each stitch to the end of the row (21).
Row 2: Ch 3 and turn. 1 dc in the next stitch. 1 fpdc in the following stitch. * 1 dc in the next 2 stitches, 1 fpdc in the next stitch. Repeat from * to the end of the row. Place 1 dc in the turning chain of the previous row.
Row 3: Ch 3 and turn. Dc in the next stitch. Fpdc in the next 2 stitches. *Dc in the next stitch, fpdc in the next 2 stitches. Repeat from * to the end of the row. Make the last fpdc around the chain 3 from the previous row.
Row 4: Ch 3 and turn. Dc in the next stitch. Fpdc in the next stitch. * Dc in the next 2 stitches, fpdc in the next stitch. Repeat from * to the end of the row. Dc in the ch 3 of the previous row.
Row 5-16: Repeat rows 3-4.
Row 17 (border): Ch 1. Sc in each stitch around the washcloth and place 2 sc in each of the corners. Sl st back to the first sc. Cut yarn and weave in tails with a yarn needle.
Pebble Beach Washcloth
Materials:
– 1 skein of Lion Brand re-up yarn or approx. 50 yards of worsted weight #4 yarn
– Size H/ 5 mm crochet hook (or hook to obtain gauge)
– Scissors
– Yarn needle
Pattern Notes:
– This pattern is written in US terms
– Ch 1 at beginning of row does not count as a stitch
– Numbers in parentheses at the end of each round indicate the number of stitches for that row.
Stitches:
Ch = Chain
PS = Puff stitch
Sc = single crochet
Sp = space
Sl st = slip stitch
Techniques:
Puff stitch: Yarn over, insert hook into the sticht, and pull up a loop. Repeat two more times in the same stitch. Yarn over and pull through all 7 loops on hook.
Gauge:
2 inches = 7 stitches x 6 rows
Finished Measurement:
Finished product measures approx. 6.5 inches x 6.5 inches.
Pattern:
Chain 22.
Row 1: Sc in the 2nd chain from the hook. Sc in each stitch to the end of the row (21).
Row 2: Ch 1 and turn. Sc in the space of the ch 1. * PS in the next stitch, sc in the following stitch. Repeat from * to the end of the row (21).
Row 3: Ch 1 and turn. Sc in each stitch to the end of the row (21).
Row 4: Ch 1 and turn. Sc in the space of the ch 1. Sc in the next stitch. *PS in the following stitch, sc in the next stitch. Repeat from * to the end of the row. 1 sc in the last space (21).
Row 5: Ch 1 and turn. Sc in each stitch to the end of the row (21).
Row 6-23: Repeat rows 2-5. At the end of row 23 do not cut yarn.
Row 24 (border): Ch 1. Sc in each stitch around the washcloth and place 2 sc in each of the corners. Sl st back to the first sc. Cut yarn and weave in tails with a yarn needle.
Pismo Beach Washcloth
Materials:
– 1 skein of Lion Brand re-up yarn or approx. 50 yards of worsted weight #4 yarn
– Size H/ 5 mm crochet hook (or hook to obtain gauge)
– Scissors
– Yarn needle
Pattern Notes:
– This pattern is written in US terms
– Ch 1 at beginning of row does not count as a stitch
– For sc3tog, start in the same space as the previous stitch and then continue into the next 2 spaces.
– Make the ch 1’s very loose to make it easier to work stitches into them.
Stitches:
Ch = Chain
Sc = single crochet
Sc3tog = single crochet 3 stitches together
Sl st = slip stitch
Technique:
Sc3tog: Insert hook into first stitch and pull up a loop. Insert hook into the next stitch and pull up a loop. Insert hook into the third stitch and pull up a loop. Yarn over and pull through all 4 loops on the hook.
Gauge:
2 inches = 7 stitches x 6 rows
Finished Measurement:
Finished product measures approx. 6.5 inches x 6.5 inches.

Row 22 (border): Ch 1. Sc in each stitch around the washcloth and place 2 sc in each of the corners. Sl st back to the first sc. Cut yarn and weave in tails with a yarn needle.
