The Name
This scarf uses the gorgeous honeycomb trellis stitch, so I thought it only fitting for the name to involve bees. Apis is Latin for bee.
The Inspiration
I have always loved the style of pocket scarves, but southern California doesn’t usually experience weather where scarves are needed. Thus, I created this lightweight, flowy version that can be worn in any weather.
The Yarn
For this project I used one of my favorite yarns, Coboo by Lion Brand. I love this yarn because it’s so soft. It’s a cotton and bamboo blend that has incredible drape. One of my favorite parts of working with this yarn is when it is time to block the project. I steam blocked this scarf and it really helped to open up the honeycomb trellis stitches and make them more defined.
Materials
For this project you’ll need approx. 4 skeins of Coboo yarn (color picked is sky) or approx. 745 yards of dk weight yarn. You’ll also need a size G/4.0 mm crochet hook.
