It’s been a little while since I’ve published a new pattern. Recently, I’ve had a lot going on in life. I finished my fall semester of school right before the holidays and now I have just started my spring semester. Also, I just moved at the beginning of the year, and at work we’ve been recovering from the holidays. If you didn’t know already, aside from running this blog I am a college student and I work as a retail manager part-time (although during the holidays I’ve been working 35+ hours a week!)
Amongst all the craziness of the last two months, I have continued to crochet. Soon I will have a few new patterns to release! I have also began brainstorming some ideas for spring designs. One idea I had was to introduce you all to crochet jewelry. If you have any request or suggestions go ahead and send them my way!
I’ve also got some exciting news to share. I have been selected to be a guest designer on the popular site Yarn Punk! They will be introducing me to the yarn community by sharing one of my newest patterns! If you follow my social media, you may see some sneak peaks of it. I am working on finishing up my test version of the pattern along with writing the pattern for multiple sizes.
When I started this little blog, I did it as a way to express my creativity and share with others my ideas. All of my patterns are based on what I would wear (as I write this I am wearing one of my sweaters haha!) I thought others may have similar style to mine would enjoy these as well. I have now had nearly 100 pattern sales! I am so appreciative of all your support. I did not think that in just 5 months I would have achieved that. That realization give me that little boost to continue writing (even when the math gets to me). I do not have models for every size that I create. I create my size and then I have to do the math to convert my measurements to larger sizes and adjust the stitch count accordingly. It has definitely challenged me at times, but if I set it aside for a bit and come back I can figure it out. I would’ve never guess that back in school learning proportions and conversions would become so crucial now!
In conclusion, thank you all for the support and sorry for the brief hiatus! I will be back to publishing regularly. Stay tuned for my Yarn Punk article and stay tuned for the new patterns coming soon. If you want to be updated when all this goes down follow any of my social media accounts or this blog. You will receive updates when I publish anything new.
Happy Stitching,
Jessica
